3 Bedroom, Office, 4 Bath, 2 Car Garage single story new Residence. The overall goal of this project was to try and achieve LEED for Homes Platinum rating, which is virtually a 0 energy home. This would be the first LEED rated home designed in the city of St. Petersburg. Through the strict process and overall budget cap, we were able to proudly achieve Silver rating. We used a closed cell spray foam icynene insulation for the walls and roof, rainwater harvesting cistern with (2) 500 gallon recirculating tanks partially buried in the side yard, fire sprinkler & alarm system throughout the home, solar panels & natural gas to power major appliances, and insulated low-e impact resistant windows and doors on the exterior. Other features include: instant hot water system, zero VOC paints, stains and finishes, bamboo flooring, dual-flush toilets and low flow faucets, high efficiency HVAC system, Florida friendly landscaping, energy star appliances, docking station for electronics, and compact fluorescent lamps.
